Do you excel at drawing, painting or modeling? Are you creative, have imagination and original ideas?

Join the art discipline of the CEMACH competition.

What will you be tasked with?

The task is to create a painting, collage, sculpture, 3D model, graphic, sculpture or other art work that is thematically related to modern Israel, its culture, personalities, society or landscape.

What do you have to do to win?

Choose a topic that interests you and an art technique. Then send the guarantor of the art discipline, Lada Krupková Křesadlová, a draft of your project. You can describe your proposal in a few sentences. In case of indecision and doubts that may concern the choice of topic, technique, dimensions, etc., ask the guarantor of the discipline for a consultation as soon as possible.

Then send the finished project using this form and the physical works by post.

What should the project be about?

The CEMACH project aims for the contestants to get to know what Israel is like today and how people live in it. Contest entries must therefore be related to modern Israel, not e.g. Jewish history, World War II, etc. Here are examples of topics:

Suitable topics:
  • Tourism
  • Science
  • Ecology
  • Education
  • Culture

Inappropriate topics:
  • Golem
  • Holocaust
  • Middle East conflict

How will the project be evaluated?

Artworks will be evaluated according to the following criteria.

  1. Originality of the subject, interesting concept

An original idea can help you a lot in the final evaluation. With your work, you can express your opinions, tell a story, describe a well-known personality, draw attention to interesting facts about Israel.

  1. Quality of processing

The quality of processing and its cleanliness are also important. You don’t have to be a professional artist, you just need to work attentively and carefully.

  1. Use of relevant information sources about Israel

Every project should be based on quality information sources. There are plenty of articles about Israel on the Internet, both in Czech and English. In addition to the Internet, it is recommended to use Czech and foreign-language newspapers, magazines, and encyclopedias.

  1. Fulfillment of formal requirements

The submitted project must meet the following requirements:

  • title and author’s name
  • the maximum format of two-dimensional works is B2 (70 x 50 cm)
  • the maximum dimension of spatial works is 30 x 30 x 30 cm
  • one author can send 1-3 works of art to the competition, the work has only one author
  • the author must adhere to the established theme – Know modern Israel
  • each work must be accurately labeled with a label that is available for download on the contest organizer’s website
  • each work must be accompanied by a text (philosophy) in the range of 30-50 words, which is part of the label
  • only originals are accepted for the competition, without adjustments

Send only photographed, scanned or developed designs in a graphic program to the address of the guarantor for consultation.
